Head Coach Katrina Stewart
Hi, my name is Katrina Stewart. Most people call me Kat. I have been involved in Sports from an early age and was a swimmer at the AIS, until an injury forced me to stop. I concentrated on my Sociology/Psychology Degree's and working with Adolescents in Crisis Intervention and Homelessness. During this time I gained weight and was also diagnosed with Cancer, Clinical Depression, Type II Diabetes as well as other obesity related illnesses.
I Yo-Yo'd multiple times and felt like nothing would really work or help me.. I fell into a deep depression and my body ached. I ended up needing $184 of medication and pain relief each week. I knew that I needed to make a change, but everything seemed so hard. There was no light bulb moment just a realisation that my body is my vehicle for my life and I was wasting it. I was miserable, obese, my body was filled with inflammation, disease and I was slowly killing myself. I knew that it was up to me, no one else - that I had a choice. I started training at the local Gym where I met Scott Hutchison who introduced me to CrossFit. It was the combination of CrossFit and my interest in Nutrition & Naturopathy that assisted me to lose 160+kgs. During this journey I no longer needed medication, my pain started to diminish and my happiness returned. When something changes your life to that point a passion is born and that is when I started to learn all I could about functional health and wellness. I have then combined all of this with my studies in Sociology and Psychology to create a passionate space that Encircles Functional Health and Wellness. I LOVE and believe in Transformational Coaching, assisting a person to strive for their unique individual goals and achieve them. So they can be the best versions of themselves. Qualifications
